Please be advised that on Sunday June 14, 2026, the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent will once again be hosting a special event here at Rondeau Provincial Park.  It will once again be the “Run for The Kids” event, which is a Run/Walk/Wheel/Ride 5KM race which will take place between 7:00AM (setup) and approximately 2:00PM that afternoon.  There will be more than 300 participants and volunteers attending this year’s event not including anyone who wants to show up and run/walk/wheel/ride the day of the event.  Please feel free to come out to participate and show your support!!!

The event will again take place in the Day Use area adjacent to the Park Store and the Marsh Building Pavilion up to Rondeau Park Rd. and the entrance to Spicebush Trail.  The Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent will be utilizing all of the Day Use grounds and pavilions in this area for the duration of the event.  The START/FINISH will happen near the swing set area across from the Warbler’s Way Trail comfort station (they will have a start/finish setup) and will go 2.5KM down Rondeau Park Rd. at which point volunteers will be set up to instruct people to turn around and head back.  This works out to be just a bit past the gates at Rondeau Park Rd. and Bennett Ave. which we will open on the morning of the event.  Bennett Ave. will be closed at Black Oak Trail using the red gates already in place.
